The University's admissions counsellor for international recruitment in Europe is planning a recruitment trip this spring and has requested the following assistance:

1. Contact details for high schools/international schools in London or the UK with potential ND students; and
2. Alumni volunteers to attend evening Information Sessions (details tbd after the trip has been approved).

The Junior League of London is a women’s charitable organisation that raises money and provides hands on volunteer assistance for families in need in London.

Volunteer Opportunity - Soup Kitchen

The American Church on Tottenham Court Road (just north of Goodge Street tube station) operates a Soup Kitchen on M/Tu/Th/F mornings. The background of the guests varies widely, from those who sleep rough to those who have housing but come to the Soup Kitchen for a sense of community.

Volunteers arrive at 9:15am and work until 12/12:30pm. No cooking skills are required -- there's a full time cook who prepares the soup and a hot meal while the 3-4 volunteers help cut bread, prepare trays of sandwiches, set up and serve food/coffee/tea as well as help clean up.

Volunteers are welcome on a one-off basis or more regularly as their schedule allows. Volunteers do not need to be members of the Church and include "locals," expats, as well as American and British students. The only requirement is that the volunteer be 18 or older.
